SinoEV began as a power-train specialist for electric vehicles and has expanded into EV batteries and stationary battery storage. The company manufactures in China and supplies batteries to JAC Motors; its battery management system and software are used in peak-shaving installations by Stem in California. SinoEV has developed a configurable “honeycomb” battery storage solution that can be installed in different size and space configurations. The firm plans to work with research institutions to adapt the technology for Australia and Southeast Asia. Octillion (SinoEV’s Australian identity) will combine supply-chain capabilities with R&D and aims to target residential, off-grid and EV markets in the region. Octillion Australia will both lead sales and business development across Australia, the Pacific and Southeast Asia and serve as a centre of engineering excellence.
