OcuTerra Therapeutics is a clinical-stage ophthalmology company developing OTT166, a novel small-molecule selective integrin inhibitor formulated as an eye drop to reach the retina. OTT166 has demonstrated safety, tolerability and clinical evidence of biological activity in Phase 1b trials in patients with diabetic retinopathy and wet AMD. The drug is designed for at-home topical administration with the goal of enabling earlier, non-invasive treatment to prevent progression and reduce the need for intravitreal injections. Proceeds from the recent financing will support the DR-EAM (Diabetic Retinopathy - Early Active Management) Phase 2 study of OTT166 in moderate to severe non-proliferative and mild proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
