Odigos builds enterprise-grade distributed tracing and observability tooling that automates tracing for complex, cloud-native systems using eBPF and OpenTelemetry. The team maintains open-source repositories and donated its initial project to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Its open-source tool works well on single Kubernetes clusters, while the commercial enterprise edition supports multiple environments and avoids requiring changes to existing APM tools. Odigos targets large enterprises that lack the resources to implement tracing manually and aims to minimize performance overhead and developer effort. The company is coming out of YC (Winter 2023) and has signed a major proof-of-concept with a very large American company while still in stealth. The new funding will be used to develop the product, invest in go-to-market, and establish headquarters in Boston, where the lead investor is located.
