Overview
Offstreet, founded in Regina in 2016 by Matt Fahlman and Kyle Smyth, develops licence plate–based parking validation software for ungated lots and garages. The product enables parking managers to digitize and manage paid parking exemptions so employees or guests can bypass payment without a manned entrance booth. Offstreet has serviced more than 500 parking lots and operates across North America in cities from Edmonton to Miami, partnering with major parking operators, property managers, and institutions. The company pivoted from an original parking-share concept to its current validation-focused offering in 2019 and began as an app addressing parking near Regina General Hospital. The startup closed a $1.2 million CAD seed round from an undisclosed group of investors and previously raised $133,333 CAD from Broad Street Bulls in 2020 plus $200,000 in federal government funding in 2021 (per CrunchBase). The recent funding will be used to scale the team, accelerate product development, and expand reach to new markets beyond North America.
