Ohai.ai builds an AI-powered household assistant designed to be the operating system for busy households, combining AI assistance with human-in-the-loop design to coordinate schedules, to-dos, and reminders. Founded by Sheila Lirio Marcelo (who previously founded Care.com), the product aims to reduce the cognitive and invisible labor parents carry daily. The company launched in beta and says it has helped thousands of families schedule hundreds of thousands of calendar events and reminders. Ohai.ai has also built a database of over 67,000 school calendars and more than 27 million local events to support automated syncing. With the new funding, the company plans to accelerate product development and roll out a School Calendar Upload feature that automatically finds and syncs school calendars from across the U.S. to save parents time and simplify sharing with caregivers and family members. Ohai.ai offers O, an AI virtual assistant that manages family scheduling, appointment booking, reminders, and task coordination via SMS. The platform pairs AI algorithms developed beginning in 2023 with a team of human assistants to handle tasks that require human intervention. Ohai.ai launched in January 2024 and is led by founder and CEO Sheila Lirio Marcelo. The service is priced at under $30 per month and supports users by scanning emails, adding school and sports calendars, and identifying free time. A mobile app with additional features is forthcoming this quarter. Ohai.ai completed a $6 million seed financing to support its rollout.
