OhmSpace has developed an innovative high-temperature electric propulsion system based on resistojet technology that targets all classes of satellites. Its system is described as safer, more efficient and more cost-effective than hazardous chemical propulsion, offering a higher thrust-to-power ratio than current electric propulsion systems. The technology aims to improve satellite efficiency and sustainability. The propulsion concept was developed from research at the University of Southampton by founder and CEO Dr Federico Romei. OhmSpace is part of the Future Worlds cohort and said the new capital will allow it to accelerate growth, enhance R&D and expand market presence. The company also noted it is closing crucial deals with industry players and is hiring to scale the team.
