Overview
Omega Therapeutics is advancing a controllable epigenomic programming platform that targets Insulated Genomic Domains (IGDs) to modulate gene expression without altering native DNA sequence. Its lead product concept, Epigenomic Controllers, comprise DNA‑binding and epigenetic effector domains delivered as mRNA to tune single or multiple genes with high specificity and controllable durability. The platform maps IGD structure and function across cell types to identify novel therapeutic targets and enable precision genomic control. Therapeutic programs span oncology, inflammation, autoimmune, metabolic, neurological, regenerative and rare genetic diseases. The company completed an $85 million financing to support progression to first‑in‑human clinical trials and aims to have its first clinical candidate ready in 2021. Founded by Flagship Pioneering in 2017 and based in Cambridge, Mass., Omega positions its approach as an alternative to gene editing and gene therapy.
