Overview
Founded in late 2024, Munich-based Omnisent is building a sensing platform that pairs proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices with a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) trained exclusively on mechanical noise, vibrations and other non-speech audio. The system captures ambient sound in real time and extracts insights that are invisible to traditional text- or speech-focused AI models. Omnisent’s first commercial focus is the manufacturing sector, where it targets compressed-air leak detection—an issue responsible for roughly 1 % of global electricity loss and costing industry tens to hundreds of billions of dollars annually. The roadmap then extends to energy, defence, space and smart-city applications, positioning sound as a new data frontier across multiple industries. Despite its youth, the company has already secured collaboration and founder scholarships from the German Fraunhofer Institute and the Federal Republic of Germany, won the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action’s Founder Award, and was named a top-10 AI startup in the Cambridge–Oxford ecosystem. The recent $3 million financing provides runway to expand R&D, hire additional talent, scale operations, and prepare for a commercial launch targeted for Q4 2025.
