Overview
Omnispace builds a hybrid network that integrates terrestrial wireless technology and satellites to deliver 5G-compliant connectivity for enterprise and IoT customers. The company began in 2012 as a holding company for wireless S-band spectrum assets acquired from the remnants of ICO Global and later developed a technology layer to tie those assets together. Omnispace focuses on enterprise use cases—agriculture, logistics, and other IoT applications—rather than consumer broadband. It has contracted Thales Alenia for its space strategy and is piloting terrestrial integrations with multiple mobile operators, with early traction in Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Management says the network would be ready in 2022 and the company is preparing for commercial service in 2023. The company recently raised $60 million in equity to flesh out services and complete pilot trials.
