OmniSpeech is a College Park–based speech technology company that applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to make voice communication clearer and more secure. Its core product is an AI noise-suppression engine that strips background sound and improves voice quality in consumer and enterprise headphones and other speech-enabled applications. Leveraging its expertise in audio, AI and speech science, the firm is preparing to release AI Detect™, a zero-shot deepfake audio detection tool that will debut later this year through an integration with Zoom. Founder Carol Espy-Wilson positions the technology as a critical defense against fraud perpetrated with synthetic voices. The company reports having already made “tremendous strides” in improving hearing devices and plans to extend its platform to broader security and communications use cases.
