OncoTartis is a Buffalo, NY–based biotechnology company developing a novel category of anti-cancer drugs with a focus on tissue-specific therapies for blood cancers. Its lead candidate, OT-82, is a NAMPT inhibitor discovered from founding IP from Prof. Andrei Gudkov's lab at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and has been isolated for selective toxicity against a broad range of hematological malignancies. OT-82 demonstrated high efficacy in multiple preclinical in vivo and ex vivo models of leukemias and lymphomas and was developed with both adult and pediatric applications in mind. The company intends to use the proceeds from its recent $6M financing to support the Phase 1 clinical trial of OT-82. OncoTartis was established in 2011 and is led by President and CEO Alexander Polinsky, Ph.D. Prior funding came from BioProcess Capital Ventures, and the latest round was backed by Norma Investments (representing Roman Abramovich) and Pharmstandard International S.A.
