Overview
One Drop offers a data‑driven digital health platform that provides eight‑hour glucose forecasts, real‑time advice, one‑on‑one coaching and personalized health plans for people with diabetes and related conditions. The platform leverages clinical science, behavioral science and advanced AI and is fueled by more than 13 billion health data points and over three million downloads. One Drop supports management of diabetes, prediabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and delivers interventions in a user‑centric app experience. Its products and services are available via iOS and Android apps and retail partners including Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, the Apple Store and CVS. The company recently entered a strategic agreement with Bayer to jointly develop digital health products across multiple therapeutic areas. Bayer’s commitments are intended to expand One Drop’s solution into Bayer focus areas such as cardiology, oncology and women’s health. One Drop is a mobile diabetes-management app created by Jeff Dachis that lets users log insulin levels, medication effectiveness, meals, and activities. The app launched in the App Store in April and recorded 60,000 user sessions in its first five weeks with an 89% conversion rate from download to active users. It is ranked 289th among health and fitness apps in the App Store. One Drop plans to move beyond software into hardware with a connected glucose meter due this year that will sync with the app, and it is building an Android app. The company intends to add new features and pursue partnerships with insurers and self-insured employers as it grows its user network. Financially, One Drop previously raised $1 million in angel funding and recently closed an $8 million Series A, giving it $9 million in total capital to fund product and hardware development. One Drop is an iOS app that lets people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes log glucose readings, insulin medication, meals (via photos) and physical activity. The app aggregates those inputs into a running log to show how different factors affect blood sugar and to inform treatment discussions with doctors. It also includes a social “We” section where users can view peers’ profiles and provide encouragement by liking entries. One Drop launched in the App Store and is free on iOS today. Founder Jeff Dachis, who was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes at 47, built the product to cover four core components he found lacking in existing tools. Dachis plans to add a monthly subscription later in the year that would include test strips and a Bluetooth-enabled glucose monitor device.
