One Planet Pizza produces plant-based frozen pizzas from a dedicated production site, manufacturing hundreds of pizzas a day. Founded by father-and-son Mike and Joe Hill in 2016, the company has grown from a garage startup to a focused frozen-food maker. The business recently secured £360,000 in its second funding round to support rapid expansion. The new funds will be used to triple production capacity, launch several new products in 2021, and expand its direct-to-consumer platform, One Planet Pizza Direct, launched in March of last year. One Planet Pizza plans to enter Norway, Sweden and Denmark with Kale United’s support and aims for future distribution in Germany and the Netherlands. The company cites the £45.5 million frozen pizza market in the UK as a growth opportunity.
