Overview

OneNav builds single-band L5 GNSS chip and system-on-chip designs intended to replace hybrid L1/L5 receivers, claiming cost and power savings and higher reliability. The company intentionally eschews legacy L1 signals to focus solely on the newer L5 band and says its design is “half the size of the old system.” It positions itself as aiming to be “the Arm of the GNSS space,” producing designs that manufacturers can integrate into their silicon. OneNav has a design contract with In-Q-Tel and a development contract with a U.S. government agency; customer evaluation units are expected by the end of this year with potential presence in end-user devices by late 2022. The company was founded about two years ago, is based in Palo Alto, and currently has more than 30 employees. To date it has raised capital to support development and commercialization, totaling $33 million after the latest round.
