Overview

OneOrder is a tech supply-chain and logistics solution for the HoReCa sector, delivered via a web platform and mobile application. The company provides a one-stop-shop with access to over 700 SKUs, analytics, embedded financing and integrations with ERP/POS systems. It simplifies payments through a collaboration with Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) to enable variable payments by direct debit. With a lean, tech-enhanced team, OneOrder has served over 1,370 clients. The company recently secured $16 million in equity and debt in a Series A round led by Delivery Hero Ventures to fund expansion into the GCC, starting with the UAE. CEO Tamer Amer highlights the role of technology and human creativity in empowering customers to focus on tasks that require human judgement. OneOrder is an Egyptian supply-chain solutions provider that lets restaurants order food supplies through an online platform. Its platform consolidates suppliers so restaurants no longer have to deal with tens of vendors, enables next-day delivery, and reduces waste and the need for warehouses. The service leverages economies of scale to lower costs and improve operational efficiency for restaurants. OneOrder is building a broader restaurant operating system that will use AI and machine learning to automate the full operations cycle beyond inventory management. Launched in March this year, the company was co-founded by CEO Tamer Amer and CTO Karim Maurice. It targets Egypt’s total addressable market of roughly 400,000 restaurants and plans to extend embedded working-capital financing to clients via partners and its data. OneOrder builds a technology-enabled platform that allows Egyptian restaurants to buy all their supplies from a single application with reliable quality, consistent pricing, and timely deliveries. The company was founded by restaurateur Tamer Amer, who also serves as CEO, and its management team includes co-founder and CTO Karim Maurice. OneOrder targets inefficiencies in a fragmented supplier market that cause inconsistent pricing, unreliable quality, and irregular delivery timing. The startup positions itself to serve Egypt’s large F&B market (c.45,000 registered restaurants and up to 250,000 unregistered outlets) and cites a 2019 USDA estimate valuing Egypt’s F&B/hospitality market at $13 billion. The company says it plans to expand geographically across MENA over time.
