Onin is a mobile keyboard calendar app that lets users check their calendar, add events, and share invites directly from their keyboard. The app integrates with all calendars and a wide range of chat apps, including WhatsApp, Messages, Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Mail, Gmail, Slack, and Discord. Onin aims to make scheduling and event sharing seamless within any chat conversation. The company plans to extend the product's functionalities and complete its launch. It intends to use new funding to expand operations and accelerate development. Onin raised £2.75m in pre-seed funding to support these efforts. Onin is a chat-first calendar app that combines messaging and scheduling to simplify multiperson event planning. Its product collapses chat and calendar into one experience, letting groups plan events collaboratively while syncing those events back to users' existing calendars. The company employs a patent-pending architectural solution that centralizes events (the organiser is the group address) to avoid fragmentation caused by legacy calendaring standards. Onin launched on Product Hunt in August and is releasing an MVP while iterating on integrations such as Zoom, and working on Typeform, Calendly, Notion and Google Workspace. Founder Ryan Brodie, previously co‑founder of Muzmatch, says Onin is starting consumer-first but sees applicability across sectors. Early traction includes over 400 people joining the early-access program in 48 hours, and the company raised a $1 million pre-seed last summer from investors including Matt Clifford and Hambro Perks.
