Onward is a mobile app that helps divorced and separated parents manage, track and settle shared expenses. Users can upload receipts, negotiate costs, make partial payments and pay co-parents through integrated connections to Venmo and Zelle; the app also supports non-child shared expenses such as mortgages or phone bills. Founder Jacklyn Rome built the product from personal experience and previously led new product launches at Uber and Blue Apron. The company has nearly 100,000 installs but remains pre-revenue. Onward plans to begin monetizing early next year with a suite of financial products, including connected credit cards, and may later introduce a paid subscription model. The startup has prioritized transparency features such as receipt visibility and eventual transaction verification via its cards.
