Onward Delivery operates a load-board marketplace that instantly prices and smart-matches shipper requests to trucks already headed in the same direction. The platform digitizes documents and final-mile processes, and its auto-scheduling feature reduces communications between drivers, customers and shippers. Founded in 2020 and led by CEO Grafton Elliott, Onward is backed by Techstars and partners with 75 retail stores across six states. The company currently operates in Iowa, Colorado, Nebraska, Georgia, Kansas and Missouri, with retail partners such as Slumberland Furniture, Bassett Furniture, Woodley’s Fine Furniture, Element Home and The Tile Shop. Onward closed a $4.7M seed round and plans to use the funding to hire engineers, build out its SaaS platform, strengthen the marketplace and expand its sales team. The company aims to enter a total of 15 markets by the end of 2022 and is actively pursuing additional retailer partnerships and geographic expansion.
