Onyx Group, founded in 1994 and led by CEO Neil Stephenson, provides business continuity, cloud computing and datacentre services to mid-market and enterprise clients. The group serves niche verticals such as professional services and financial sectors and has grown its customer base to over 2,000 clients. Onyx operates ten sites across the UK, including London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Teesside and Sheffield, comprising five data centres and six workplace recovery facilities. In recent years the company completed six acquisitions, expanding its geographical reach and broadening its service offerings. ISIS Equity Partners has taken a majority shareholding after providing £27m in funding and committing a further £15m to support strategic acquisitions, for a total of £42m. The additional committed capital is intended to fund acquisitions to enhance geographic reach and add new services for existing customers.
