At the time of the raise the company had 11 employees (about 25% female and 25% non-white; four first-generation immigrants) and said it had tripled revenue since March 2020. It has powered more than 7.5 million calls and more than 17.3 million messages since launch. OpenPhone builds a phone system aimed at small business owners and startups to help them communicate with customers. Its product adds a second phone number on existing devices and gives team members their own numbers, shared numbers, and collaborative conversation tools. The platform supports automation by connecting OpenPhone to other company tools. The company recently introduced Slack and email integrations and made web app improvements. OpenPhone is led by co-founder and CEO Mahyar Raissi and plans to use new funding to accelerate growth, expand team capabilities for both teams and individuals, and grow the team.
