G-5, Shakuntla Building, 59, Nehru Place, New Delhi, Delhi, 110019, India
Overview
Founded in 2024 by Ashish Goel and Pranav Chopra, Optimist is building air-conditioning technology that uses 70% less electricity than conventional units, aiming to cut consumer bills and ease load on India’s power infrastructure. The company is initially targeting residential and small commercial customers and expects to begin household deliveries on February 26 across Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Bengaluru. Sales will be driven through a mix of direct-to-consumer channels and exclusive brand stores. Optimist has established a final-assembly facility that can be scaled to 150,000–200,000 units, while relying on third-party manufacturers for key components. Fresh capital will fund core R&D, capex for manufacturing scale-up, and go-to-market execution. Including the latest raise, the startup has secured about $14 million to date, positioning it to commercialize its first products and expand production capacity.
