Optovue develops and commercializes high-speed optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography technologies for the eye care market, including the AngioVue Imaging System. AngioVue lets physicians visualize blood vessels in individual retinal layers without dye and has applications across retina, glaucoma and anterior segment. The system was introduced to markets outside the U.S. late the prior year and is in daily clinical use at over 400 sites, and has been the focus of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. Optovue is privately held, founded in 2003 and based in Fremont, California. AngioVue is pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company plans to use new funding to expand its imaging platforms and further commercialize and develop AngioVue clinical applications.
