Opus Security builds a cloud-native orchestration and remediation platform that integrates operational and technical data from existing cloud security tools to coordinate remediation workflows. The product creates connective tissue between security operations and other enterprise teams, using guidelines, playbooks and automation to resolve common issues without human involvement and deliver remediation metrics. The company positions itself as improving on generic ticketing platforms like ServiceNow or Jira by providing instant visibility, mapping of remediation and automation to remove blind spots. Opus cites widespread alert volumes and understaffing — including an Orca Security finding that 59% of security teams get more than 500 public cloud alerts per day and an ISACA/HCL poll where 61% of security professionals said their teams were understaffed — as drivers for its product. The startup faces established cloud security competitors such as Wiz, Paladin Cloud and Laminar but says it has early adoption from a handful of design partners. Opus plans to launch its platform in general availability in Q1 2023, expand its U.S. footprint, grow product R&D and increase headcount from about 10 to 20–25 by year-end.
