Orderin operates a proprietary delivery-as-a-service (DaaS) platform focused on improving last-mile delivery for businesses and SMMEs. Its platform uses digital technologies, AI and data science to optimise routing, fuel use and demand prediction. Orderin currently serves clients including McDonalds and Pick n Pay, employs 120 people and has created delivery opportunities for a further 2,000 people. The company plans to scale its infrastructure and proprietary DaaS technology, launch DaaS offerings for SMMEs in the medium term, and expand its delivery partners and headcount. Financially, Orderin has raised R71 million ($4.7M) in a pre-series B and reports total investment of R303 million from prior funding and operational capital. Earlier financings cited in the company’s history include R6.5 million in pre-seed, R38.5 million in seed and R285 million in operational capital between 2018 and October 2021, plus a R102 million round in 2020. The funding is intended to scale talent, tech and operations to support customer and revenue growth.
