OrSense builds portable, non-invasive monitors for blood parameters including oxygen saturation, hemoglobin/hematocrit and glucose using its proprietary Occlusion Spectroscopy ring-shaped sensor. Its NBM 200MP received FDA clearance in 2010 for multi-parameter oximetry and the company has CE approval for its non-invasive hemoglobin monitor; a CE-approved glucose monitor was tested on over 450 diabetic subjects. The devices were tested on roughly 8,000 subjects across more than 40 clinical trials at over 20 sites worldwide. Customers include blood donation facilities, hospital departments, public screening programs and outpatient facilities. OrSense aims to expand commercialization into additional point-of-care segments such as women's health, public health programs and homecare and to extend its geographic reach beyond Europe into Asia Pacific, Africa and the Americas. Financially, the company closed an $18 million private financing to accelerate commercialization of its product portfolio.
