Orus Energy
49 Rue du Moulin Vert, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75014, France
Overview
Orus Energy is an energy flexibility platform that aggregates and optimizes the flexibility of buildings to help decarbonize the power grid. Its software uses machine learning to predict electricity consumption and flexibility needs, then dynamically controls assets like heat pumps, thermostats, and EV charging to shift usage to times when electricity is cheapest and greenest. The demand-response platform interfaces with deployed control systems to shift power demand without impacting occupant comfort, leveraging buildings' thermal inertia, and can remunerate clients up to 10% of their electricity bill. Since its commercial launch in 2023, Orus has registered over 1 million m² of real estate on its platform and deployed solutions with clients including IKEA and La Poste Immobilier. Co-founder Alexandre Girard has stated the company aims to unlock up to 6 gigawatts of flexible demand in France by 2030. The platform positions demand-side flexibility in commercial buildings as a scalable way to reduce reliance on polluting peak generation and support renewable integration.
