Orygen offers a technology platform that uses AI to identify and analyse unused or abandoned rural land and match it with companies and developers for projects such as carbon absorption, agroforestry, renewable energy and other sustainability uses. The platform bundles services including land search, a marketplace, project design, profitability calculation and agroforestry analysis. Since launching in 2023 the company has invested more than €150,000 in product development and has analysed over 45,000 hectares and registered more than 600 landowners; its marketplace currently lists 150 available plots. Orygen says its technology can assess soils rapidly without site visits and recommend the most suitable projects both environmentally and financially. The company positions itself as a solution to rural depopulation and land abandonment in Spain by enabling owners to revalue and monetise their land. The business model targets owners, large landholders and sustainability project developers as primary users of the platform.
