Overview
CancerAid provides a patient-facing self-reporting symptom tracker, personalized cancer information, a personal and symptom journal, a 'Champions' feature for family and friends, and social networking for patients and survivors. It also offers ClinicianLink, a clinician-facing dashboard that embeds in Epic Systems workflows for nurses, oncologists, radiologists and other hospital staff. The company has integrated ClinicianLink into Epic at Cedars‑Sinai and integrated the app with Apple HealthKit so Apple wearables can capture CancerAid functionality. CancerAid has about 20,000 patients on the app and is being used in 80 of the 200 largest U.S. health systems. Backed by $1.9 million in funding from strategic and financial investors, the company expects to lock in six-figure licensing deals with hospital systems and is pursuing U.S. expansion via a dedicated subsidiary. Cedars‑Sinai is both an early investor (via its accelerator run with Techstars) and the first U.S. hospital system to incorporate CancerAid's self-reported information into a clinician dashboard.
