Osimis develops collaboration tools for medical imaging, using open-source software and its proprietary Lify platform to simplify exchange and consultation of imaging studies. The team is the main contributor to the Orthanc open-source project, which has been downloaded more than 230,000 times and is used in 192 countries. Lify enables fast and efficient deployment of Orthanc within the health industry and is presented as a flexible, customizable solution validated by clinical IT teams. The company says it will use the new financing to accelerate development of the Lify platform and its international expansion. Osimis aims to strengthen its presence across Europe, North America and Asia and is hiring computer scientists and commercial medtech staff to meet demand. The project originated in an academic setting with support from the University Hospital of Liège, and company leadership has emphasized clinical impact and bringing algorithmic innovation closer to practice.
