Ostoform

Unit 5C, Fairgreen House, Saint Loman's Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath, N91 H635, Ireland

Overview

Ostoform is a Dublin-based medical devices company that developed a seal placed around a stoma to prevent skin irritation and damage caused by fluid outflow. The seal is intended to help patients using colostomy bags and other stoma-care users by protecting peristomal skin. Founded in 2016 at the University of Limerick by Kevin Kelleher and Rhona Hunt, the company has secured early backing from Enterprise Ireland and angel investors. It recently raised €1.1m, including €280,000 from the Halo Business Angel Network and participation from VC firm SOSV. Ostoform will use the funds to expand the team by five hires, run patient trials, and pursue regulatory approvals to commercialise its stoma seal in the US and Europe. Management says the angel investors bring experience with FDA patient trials and CE marking that will help the company avoid regulatory pitfalls as it scales.
