It also launched Overtrust, a warranty brand that offers walk-in product repair services in 55 cities across India. Led by Alexander Souter and Saptarshi Nath, Overcart serves e-commerce companies, manufacturers and retailers. The company previously raised capital from K Ganesh’s Growthstory, The Phoenix Fund, Snow Leopard Ventures and GSF Superangels. Overcart says it will use the new funding to further expand operational efficiency and reach. Started in 2012 by Alex Souter and Saptarshi Nath, Overcart (operated by Delhi-based Exit10 Marketing Private Limited) is an online marketplace for excess, unboxed, refurbished and preowned consumer electronics, with smartphones the largest category. The company focuses on helping businesses and large e-commerce firms manage customer returns and eliminate unsold stock by offering these items at liquidation prices to consumers and smaller retailers, which it says reduces warehousing costs. Overcart currently concentrates on the consumer electronics market in India and offers products such as mobile phones, laptops, console games and accessories. The firm plans to use the new funding to scale its supply-chain operations, build technology and expand hiring. Financially, Overcart previously received a $25,000 seed from GSF when it was part of the accelerator in October 2012; the Series A amount was not disclosed. The move positions Overcart among other recommerce and classified players but differentiated by its focus on businesses and e-commerce companies rather than consumer-to-consumer listings.
