Overseed specializes in agronomic research and the development and manufacture of medicines derived from the cannabis plant, aiming to become the first French manufacturer of 100% medical cannabis medicines. Founded in 2021 and based in the Centre region of France, the company holds the first French R&D authorization for Cannabis sativa L. and is a founding member of Santé France Cannabis. Overseed has developed varietal selection, pharmaceutical-quality production of active ingredients, and is focusing initially on a range of three oral products. It has built manufacturing partnerships with Stanipharm for extraction/formulation and Pharm&Beauty for production of finished pharmaceutical products. The company is conducting preclinical and clinical work in collaboration with CNRS/CBM and the University Hospital of Orléans to study additional indications and demonstrate efficacy. Overseed plans to obtain go-to-market authorization and will commercialize finished, packaged products in collaboration with a French pharmaceutical distributor, positioning for high-volume production and national supply security.
