Overworld is developing a third-person 3D action role-playing game (ARPG) built in Unreal Engine 5 for current-gen consoles, PCs and mobile devices. The team is focused on completing an alpha build and aims to deliver a best-in-class free-to-play RPG with world-class visuals and compelling game design. The studio plans to implement player ownership in a frictionless and optional way that complements the gameplay rather than making it the primary feature. Overworld has published a successful NFT collection, “Overworld Incarna,” which ranked among the top ten traded collections for over five weeks in 2023. The project was incubated by the Xterio ecosystem, which provided initial funding and tech contributions and will publish the game via Xterio’s platform. The seed financing announced in the press release will be used to accelerate development and expand the community around the multiplayer experience and digital collectibles. Overworld is developing high-quality, free-to-play multiplayer role-playing games that integrate digital collectibles and player ownership. Its first game is an online RPG in development for PC, consoles and mobile, intended to establish the Overworld brand. The studio plans to launch a digital collectible drop that grants holders unique benefits and early access, slated for Q2 2023. Overworld is incubated by Jeremy Horn, Xterio’s COO and a former VP of Strategy at Jam City, and the core team of six includes industry veterans from Riot Games, Disney, Krafton, Jam City and Ubisoft. Xterio and its operating company LibeccioTech are providing initial funding and platform support to help launch game-themed collectibles and related services. The company will leverage the Xterio platform’s marketplace, social community hub and user-centric tools as part of its product and community strategy.
