Owensboro Grain Company produces a wide array of soybean‑derived products, including meal, hull pellets, oil and lecithin for human and animal consumption. The family‑owned business is in its fifth generation and is based in Owensboro, Kentucky. The company plans to expand operations by constructing a glycerin refinery plant to broaden its product offerings and support a green energy initiative. The expansion is expected to create approximately 40 construction jobs and 10 permanent jobs. Management says the new facility will allow the company to better utilize local agriculture. The project is being financed in part to leverage the Kentucky New Markets Development program.
