P3D (Phase III Development Company S.A.R.L.) was recently established to assist pharmaceutical companies in managing and funding Phase III clinical trials in the European Union. Its primary role is to fund and manage late‑stage clinical development, initially focusing on label expansion of an already approved therapeutic under a deal with a major global pharmaceutical company. Under that agreement P3D will support Phase III trials in additional indications and, in return, will receive development and regulatory milestone payments, a share of certain out‑licensed royalties, and a percentage of product revenue if approved in those indications. Paul Capital Healthcare has committed up to $100M in initial funding to P3D. The structure positions P3D to participate in a diversified pool of royalties, milestones and revenue interests tied to late‑stage development programs.
