Overview
PageCloud provides a cloud-based content management system and website-creation platform that emphasizes pixel-level design control and an advanced drag-and-drop editor. The product integrates with over 60 popular web widgets, supports in-app domain purchasing, and has added a series of themes to simplify site building for non-designers. The company says it will soon launch a branded Gmail service. PageCloud initially debuted as a Disrupt NY 2015 finalist and formally launched its CMS in November 2015. Its user base has grown quickly: the company reported over 15,000 users across 130 countries after earlier scaling from 12,000 to 14,000 paid users in a two-month span. Founder and CEO Craig Fitzpatrick has noted strong DIY adoption in addition to agency customers. PageCloud offers a browser‑based, drag‑and‑drop website creation tool that lets users place and rearrange photos, video, text and other elements on a page. It provides pre-built templates, fonts and elements while enabling users to copy fonts or entire layouts from other sites and paste them into a PageCloud page. The product also supports taking designs from Photoshop into the web and emphasizes element-level drag-and-drop editing that the founder calls an evolution over competitors. The company has several patents pending around turning the browser into a PowerPoint‑like editing environment. PageCloud launched at Disrupt NY 2015 after months of beta testing with small businesses. Founder and CEO Craig Fitzpatrick built the product to let marketing and non-technical users edit sites themselves; the company has raised $2.2M in seed funding so far and has moved to a public launch.
