Pagedraw builds a UI editor that automatically turns design mockups into clean, editable front-end code. The product can import designs from Sketch so designers can work in familiar tools while developers receive implementable code. Pagedraw targets software teams building web apps with the React framework and has a longer-term plan to support mobile app design. The founders say they created a full-fledged design editor and code interface to avoid forcing designers or computers into the other's mental model. The company was started by Jared Pochtar (CEO) and Gabriel Guimaraes (COO) while they were undergraduates; the founders have internship experience at Google, Palantir, and Dropbox. Pagedraw has five customers using the product full-time, offers the product free for students and open-source projects, and plans to charge enterprise subscribers.
