Paleteria La Michoacana is a Turlock, CA-based producer, marketer and distributor of premium ice cream and Mexican-style frozen novelties (paletas). Founded in 1991 by CEO Ignacio Gutierrez and his wife Patricia, the company is known for using natural fruits and high-quality ingredients in its paletas. It began selling through Hispanic-oriented grocery stores in the Central Valley and has expanded distribution through direct-to-store and third-party channels. Its current footprint covers local and mainstream grocers and warehouse club stores across California, the InterMountain West region and Texas. The company received a $3.5M investment from The Central Valley Fund. It intends to use the funds to expand the reach of its flavored Mexican-style frozen novelties and related ice cream products across a wider range of food and grocery retailers.
