PandaTree provides a WebRTC-based platform that connects students via live video to vetted tutors who use a proprietary, standards-based curriculum. Lessons are interactive and can include virtual 3D tours, projects, and games; parents schedule 25- or 50-minute sessions with chosen tutors. Tutors undergo a rigorous hiring process including test sessions with real kids and background checks, and they tailor PandaTree’s curriculum to each child’s pace. Mandarin and Spanish are currently offered, with additional languages planned for the future. The company is led by co-founder and product lead Rich Matsuura and founder and CEO Kristina Klausen. Financially, PandaTree secured $1.5M in seed funding, bringing total invested capital to $2M.
