Paninian India is developing the Yantur 4.5 kN compact turbofan engine intended to power its proposed Svayatt L1 long-range autonomous cruise missile and to serve as a basis for a family of indigenous propulsion systems for unmanned aircraft and autonomous combat platforms. The company says Yantur has completed conceptual and detailed design and is moving into subsystem testing and full-engine validation. Paninian has filed patent claims covering aspects of engine architecture, compressor design, combustor technology and digital health monitoring, and has assembled an advisory team including former propulsion and certification specialists. The firm plans to scale the engine core potentially to about 12.5 kN for collaborative combat aircraft. To finance testing, validation and integration work it has launched a US$3 million funding round. As of the announcement, Paninian has not reported successful engine runs, endurance trials, flight tests or certification milestones, leaving the programme at an early development stage.
