Papaya offers a software platform that helps fleet operators source and manage electric vehicles (EVs) and light-electric vehicles (LEVs), centralising suppliers, maintenance, insurance and charging workflows in a single operating system. The company targets last-mile delivery fleets and multimodal vehicle mixes—e-vans, cargo bikes and e-bikes—addressing fragmentation and opaque procurement across suppliers. Papaya was soft-launched in February and is already live in five markets: the U.K., Spain, France, Germany and Estonia, with customers including Gopuff and Evri. Founders Santi Ureta (CEO) and Renato Serra (CTO) built the product from experience at Deliveroo and Gopuff and emphasize visibility, accountability and fleet-level data insights. The company plans to launch a vehicle marketplace by the end of the year to let suppliers and service providers showcase products and services to fleets. Financially, Papaya announced a $3.5 million fundraise and intends to use the cash to build Europe’s largest electric vehicle ecosystem and decarbonise European fleets.
