Paradox Interactive develops and publishes popular strategy games such as Hearts of Iron, Stellaris and Europa Universalis. The company raised more than $11.8 million from the crowd via the Swedish equity crowdfunding platform Pepins, filling a 100 million SEK round. The campaign opened strongly, raising the first $3 million in just eight minutes. The equity crowdfunding went live just ahead of Paradox’s listing on Nasdaq’s First North market for smaller, fast-growing companies. At market close the company was trading at SEK 51.75 while crowdfund purchasers bought at SEK 33. The campaign is among the largest equity crowdfunding efforts seen in the gaming sector and represented a major early success for Pepins, which had launched only a few months earlier.
