Parallel.Works commercializes technology developed over a decade to enable scientists, engineers, and data analysts to perform compute-intensive modeling, simulation, and analytic workflows more quickly and cost-effectively. The team is led by Michael Wilde, a software architect at Argonne and senior fellow at the Computation Institute. Parallel.Works participated in the CIE + Cisco Innovation Challenge and the UChicago iCorps site program to refine customer positioning and identify potential users. The company will use a $120,000 investment to complete the initial version of its product, integrate third-party vendors into workflows, and begin a pilot with initial customers. The technology is positioned to increase product quality and speed time to market for customers in computation-heavy domains. The team plans to continue commercialization efforts using the Fund support and the lessons learned from the accelerator programs.
