Parenthoods
1522 Bush Street, San Francisco, CA, 94109, United States
Overview
Parenthoods is an iOS mobile social network built to connect millennial parents for advice, support, playdates and other local meetups. The app launched in San Francisco in summer 2014 and initially attracted only a few hundred users. Core features include chat, and the company recently added search, bookmarks for saving tips and conversations, and a "reputation and thanks" feature to rate helpful responses. The app is updated to be iPhone 6 and 6 Plus ready. Founders Siobhan Quinn (ex-Foursquare and Google product manager) and Jeni Axline (former Director of Production at Say Media) built the product out of a perceived need for parent-centric social networking. Parenthoods plans to expand to other markets beyond San Francisco as it grows its user base. Financially, the company announced a $1.32 million seed raise to support continued product development and expansion.
