Parfait combines machine learning and human stylists to digitize and speed the custom-wig process for women of color. Customers select a wig and answer a short questionnaire (skin tone, hair texture, length, cut, part, adhesive use and prep) and receive sizing and tint recommendations powered by ML, plus a deep facial-swap preview. The workflow reduces what traditionally took hours with a stylist to about 20 minutes online, with finished wigs delivered in 7–9 business days; customers can also book a 15-minute stylist consultation. Human stylists sit behind the system to correct AI predictions (tinting/sizing) and each correction retrains the dataset to improve future accuracy. The founding team comprises four Black women (two with MBAs from Wharton and two with PhDs from MIT) who built optimized, station-based manufacturing and an end-to-end digital experience. The company aims to standardize and modernize how women of color (and men interested) shop for custom wigs.
