PartTec develops and manufactures non-helium-3 neutron detectors aimed at global security, neutron research and medical imaging markets. The company was named a 2012 R&D100 Award winner in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Laboratories for its wavelength-shifting scintillator neutron detector. PartTec plans to commercialize several critical products in its non-helium-3 detector line using newly raised capital. Earlier federal funding supported initial product prototypes developed to address the helium-3 shortage. Elevate Ventures (which manages the 21st Century Fund for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation) is providing both capital and advisory support, including guidance from venture partner John Bodman. PartTec was founded in 2002 and operates out of Indianapolis, IN.
