Overview
Pascal is a New York–based prediction market platform that launched in June and remains in private beta. The company positions its markets closer to perpetual futures and emphasizes competitively low fees and advanced trading tools aimed at professional traders and institutions. It was founded by Ivo Crnkovic-Rubsamen and Matthew Downey, both of whom have backgrounds in institutional and high-frequency trading; Crnkovic-Rubsamen previously served as CEO at crypto derivatives exchange dYdX in 2024. Pascal raised a $6 million seed in August from Wintermute Ventures and DBA and followed with a $9 million Series A led by Union Square Ventures. The founders have said the platform seeks to reduce issues like phantom fills and to attract liquidity from serious traders. Pascal has not disclosed current trading volumes or the valuation at which the Series A was raised.
