Led by co-founder and CEO Raffi Salama and based in London, the company serves a diverse community of mid-sized and Fortune 500 customers across North America, the UK and Europe. Customers include PepsiCo, Mars, ABinBev, HSBC and The Match Group. The company recently raised $9M in a Series A and plans to use the funds to continue product development and expand further into North America. Passionfruit also intends to add software features for businesses to track progress in real time across growth planning, execution and reporting cycles. Passionfruit is a London-based freelancer platform enabling users to manage their business with access to work, financial tooling and community-led upskilling, with an initial focus on marketing specialists. Led by Raffi Salama and Issah Abdul-Moomin, the company also maintains an office in Lisbon, Portugal. Passionfruit has already gained hundreds of specialists and customers across the EU, UK and US. It closed a $4.3M seed round in July 2022 and will use the funding to expand its product offering and to push its commercial reach into ever-larger businesses across Europe and North America. The round was co-led by firstminute Capital and Playfair, with participation from FJ Labs, Portfolio Ventures, the Atomico, Accel and Notion scout networks, and angels including Mandeep Singh, Xav Collins and executives from Stripe, Airbnb and Workday. Its offering combines a freelancer marketplace with financial tooling and community-led upskilling to support freelancers' business needs.
