Pastoral develops animal-tracking and farm-monitoring software that includes virtual fencing, live animal tracking, satellite crop information and localised weather forecasts. Its virtual fencing lets a farmer draw an area on a phone; when an animal crosses the invisible boundary, the animal's collar plays a loud sound and sends a notification to the farmer. The platform delivers live tracking, satellite crop data and localised weather to help livestock producers optimise operations and prepare for forthcoming carbon-footprint measurement requirements. Pastoral was designed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and is a graduate of UNDP's Cultiv@te sustainable agriculture incubator. The startup is London-based and plans to grow its presence in North America, Europe and Central Asia within the next year. It recently secured £205,000 in pre-seed funding to support those expansion plans.
