Pathzero
Level 8, 11-17 York Street, Sydney, New South Wales, 2000, Australia
Overview
Pathzero provides a PCAF- and GHG Protocol-aligned platform that lets financial institutions exchange carbon information securely, measure financed emissions across scopes, perform scenario analysis, and set targets. The company focuses on private markets where emissions data is harder to obtain and aims to replace spreadsheet- and consultant-led workflows with an auditable, scalable solution. Pathzero reports 142 million tonnes of emissions under management today and has a stated target of increasing that to 1 billion tonnes. Its customers include private markets firm StepStone, superannuation fund HESTA, ROC Partners, and investor/customer Carthona Capital. Pathzero differentiates from ratings agencies like S&P and MSCI by concentrating on private markets, and from boutique consultants by enabling clients to do more work in-platform. The company is expanding internationally as regulatory pressure grows for financed-emissions reporting. Pathzero provides a platform that, together with a sustainability expert, measures corporate carbon emissions, helps implement emissions-reduction plans, facilitates purchasing of verified carbon credits, and enables public disclosure of emissions. The company is led by co-founders Carl Prins (CEO) and Charbel Ayoub (CTO). Since their A$1m seed round in September 2020, Pathzero have moved swiftly to expand their offering. Pathzero raised US$5m in funding to continue expanding operations and business reach globally. The platform is positioned around corporate carbon accounting and associated services; the articles do not report revenue or user metrics.
